At Katharine Morling we take your privacy very seriously.

This privacy policy provides you with details of how we collect and process your personal information. This policy applies to information held about clients and prospective clients, suppliers and prospective suppliers, contacts and all other persons about whom Katharine Morling holds information. By ‘information’ we mean personal data about you that we collect, use, share and store.

Katharine Morling is the data controller and we are responsible for your personal information (referred to as “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy notice) and “you” means the individual to whom the information relates.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

We may collect the following:

  • Your name;
  • Your contact information such as your address, email address and telephone number;
  • If required, your payment details/financial data i.e. your bank name, account number and sort code;
  • Information related to your attendance of open studios, workshops and projects
  • Information about you that you give us in person, at our exhibitions and events, by filling in our contact form on our website katharinemorling.co.uk or by corresponding with us via phone, e-mail or otherwise
  • Information in relation to your purchase of artworks, commissions, workshops or other services
  • When browsing our website, standard Google Analytics gathers data such as your IP address, your browser type

For example: when you purchase something from our online store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

If you have bought work by Katharine Morling at the Royal Academy Summer exhibition, they will have sent us details relating to your purchase so that we can fulfill our contractual obligations to you. The information gathered here will be kept confidential and in line with Katharine Morling’s privacy policy.

 

WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

We will only use your personal information when legally permitted. The most common uses of your personal information are:

  • Carry out our obligations arising from any agreements entered into between you and us and communicate with you about this
  • Internal record keeping and administration
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

Email marketing

With your permission, we may send you emails about upcoming exhibitions, open studios and other updates. We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at katharine.morling@network.rca.ac.uk

Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal ground for processing your personal data, other than in relation to sending marketing communications to you via email. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by emailing us katharine.morling@network.rca.ac.uk

We will never sell or rent your personal information to third parties, nor will we share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may pass your information to our third-party service providers or subcontractors for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to send you our newsletter). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and to ensure that they comply with all the requirements of the Data Protection laws.

 

DATA SECURITY

We have put in place security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used, altered, disclosed, or accessed without authorisation. We also allow access to your personal information only to those employees and partners who have a business need to know such data. They will only process your personal information on our instructions and they must keep it confidential.

We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach if we are legally required to.

 

DATA RETENTION

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

When deciding what the correct time is to keep the information for we look at its amount, nature and sensitivity, potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure, the processing purposes, if these can be achieved by other means and legal requirements.

For tax purposes the law requires us to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for six years after they stop being customers.
